Stuff I'm Loving - January

Hey there and Happy New Year! It’s 2019 and 365 days of brand new everything!

I like a new year and the prospect of endless possibilities. What will this new year bring? What are we looking forward to? What trips will we taking? Who will come to visit? What DIY stuff will be done? What does God have in store for us? So. Much. Goodness.

So what am I loving this month? Here’s the scoop:

Organizing - Be Neatly Organized

What I’m Listening To:

The Organized Life podcast. I have numerous podcasts that I listen to quite frequently. I aim to listen to something every day. Sometimes I listen to more than one and other days, well, it just doesn’t happen.

What I’m Reading:

The Cozy Minimalist Home by Myqillin Smith. As you may be aware, I’m an avid reader. I love, love, love to read. So the ironic thing is that sometimes I get ADD and get bored and move on to another book before I finish the first one. If a book is really good, I actually read it all the way through. And if it’s really, really good, I’ll read it again. This book falls into that category. I read the book and now I’m going through it again. Because I got the ebook, I get to highlight what catches my eye and then review all the highlights. Great feature from my Kindle. I like Myquillin’s concept but I think that the word ‘minimalist’ is just the wrong word. I’ve got a new word and I’ll be sharing it shortly. In the meantime, I’d recommend this book.

What I’m DIYing:

We are on a Christmas hiatus! But, man, I’m starting to get antsy to do projects UPSTAIRS. Since Mr. Wonderful and I moved into our home 2.5 years ago, we have been concentrating on the downstairs basement. Not wanting to be ones that get something partially finished before moving on to the next thing, we’ve been holding off doing any major projects upstairs (other than my office which was a necessity). But now I’m eyeing several things that are looking like great possibilities - a hall linen closet and widening the doorway between the kitchen and dining room are getting pretty high on the list. So we will see what transpires after the holiday dust (glitter) settles.

What I Am Organizing:

Holiday Decor. As I mentioned above, I’m putting away holiday decorations for the year and I want to ensure I pack them up properly in order to have a smooth set up next season. I undecorate in two sessions - one weekend for the house decor and one weekend for the main tree. I really have to do it right or I pay for it.

What I’m Excited About:

New year, new possibilities! Ah, I really like a new year. 2018 was quite the year so I’m looking forward to see what transpires in 2019.

So there you have it! What I’m Loving in January. Let me know what you’re loving in January!
